“And suddenly there came from the sky a noise like a strong driving wind, and it filled the entire house in which they were. Then there appeared to them tongues as of fire, which parted and came to rest on each one of them. And they were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different tongues, as the Spirit enabled ”-Acts 2:2-4
The Sacrament of Confirmation completes Baptism by increasing and deepening the Baptismal graces. Confirmation unites us more firmly to Christ, increases the gifts of the Holy Spirit within us, makes our bond with the Catholic Church more perfect, and gives us special strength to spread and defend the faith.
When do we celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation at St. Matthew?
Most parishes offer Confirmation to parishioners in their early teenage years. At Saint Matthew, we prepare students for two years, usually beginning in seventh grade, to receive Confirmation at the end of their eighth grade year. For more information please contact the St. Matthew School at (614) 471-4930, the St. Matthew Parish School of Religion at (614) 471-2067 or contact Travis Burtch.
