Dear St. Matthew Community,
The future of the St. Matthew Parish Festival is at risk.
The festival is planned for July 19-20, 2024, and we know it seems early to be talking about the festival but planning has already begun. The festival relies largely on volunteers from the members of our community to successfully run. It is relatively easy and a very fun way to bring our community together while supporting our parish and school. We have met some really great people volunteering for the festival, some of them being our closest friends now.
This year we are short on captains and volunteers. We are reaching a critical point where we need to determine whether or not we will have enough help from the parish community to run the festival this year. We rely on the generosity of 175 volunteers to run the festival every year, and we need a commitment of 50% of our volunteers by the end of March to proceed with the planning.
The festival committee is humbly asking you to prayerfully consider supporting this wonderful event. We are only asking at this time for assurance that you will volunteer for a shift at the festival. If we get the promise of enough volunteers, we will open a sign-up genius in April or May so you can dedicate yourself to a specific area and time.
The community that we enjoy as a parish was built by the families that came before us. It is up to each one of us to continue this long standing tradition that brings so many together in Faith, Fun and Fellowship.
This year we are pleased to announce that the proceeds from the festival will go directly toward the resurfacing of the playground at our school. Please email stmatthewparishfestival@gmail.com (or fill out the form below) if you are interested in being added to our list of volunteers. We also have several openings on our planning committee and we would love to have you! Our next meeting is on March 24 at 2:00 pm at Heart State Brewing. All are welcome to come!
This is our community and our commitment to each other; to help each one of us grow in Faith and Fellowship. And most importantly, we are here to support the children of our parish and school. One people, One Church in Christ.
Thank you and God Bless,
Shawn and Annie Miller
