Heavenly Father, please bless us and the work of our hands as we crochet and knit. Help us to always be mindful of those among us who are in need. May the Holy Spirit guide us and help us to remain meek and humble as we do your earthly work. Bless and comfort those who receive the hats and scarves we create.
May the warmth they feel remind them of your loving embrace so that they know that they are never alone on their journey … for you hold each and every one of your children here on earth in the palm of your hands.
We ask this in the name of Jesus.
Who are we and what do we do?
Many people have volunteered over the years by donating yarn, money to buy yarn and knitting/crocheting items in their homes. Presently there are more than 100+ of us knitting and crocheting. Since 1995, we have been blessed to make over 55,000 items.
- hats for men, women, children, toddlers and premature babies
- baby blankets
- lap robes
See us in action by visiting our Gallery.
In 2013, we distributed over 8,000 items to 38 organizations in the Central Ohio area.

How can you help?
The more people that get involved means the more people we can help! If you are interested in donating yarn, it can be dropped off at St. Matthew’s Church Office. Please include your name, address and phone number with your donation so that we can send a personal note of thanks. Checks can be made out to Mrs. Glenda Neely, and note “The Knitting/Crocheting Ministry” on the memo line. 100% of all donations goes to buy yarn.
Please contact Glenda Neely if you would like to knit and/or crochet for this cause, wish to make a yarn or monetary donation, or would like more information regarding this ministry.
Special thanks for a successful 2013 Outreach Delivery!
In November of 2013, the volunteers from The Knitting and Crocheting Ministry help load boxes filled with hand-made hats, scarves, baby blankets and lap robes for distribution to 38 organizations in the Central Ohio area.
We would like to give special thanks to:
- Mifflin Presbyterian Church in Gahanna for allowing us to use their Community Room to sort the items for distribution.
- Jet Container for providing new boxes. This was truly a gift!
- Father Sill who came to bless the items Friday afternoon.
