Catholic School Ministries

Our Catholic School ministries support the Pastor and Principal in social, spiritual, administrative, and fund raising activities.  The Church sponsors and supports schools because it recognizes that, for a people of faith, the wisdom and culture transmitted by a school are enriched and put into perspective by the Gospel message and by the history of Christian people. Our school’s mission is to enhance student learning in an environment that evokes the Catholic principles of love, respect, honesty, integrity and service to others.

Home and School Association (HSA)

St. Matthew Home and School Association serves to enhance the educational, spiritual, and physical well-being of St. Matthew School students. This ministry provides parents the opportunity to be involved in their child’s education through a variety of volunteer activities. The Association sponsors an annual Open House for parents to meet classroom teachers and to enjoy fellowship with each other. HSA also organizes fund-raisers such as the Silent Auction and Hometown Christmas Bazaar and sponsors activities for the students throughout the year.

Special People in Catholic Education (S.P.I.C.E.)

St. Matthew S.P.I.C.E. program recognizes that each parish child is a unique individual with different learning needs. The program provides financial support to the school and parish school of religion, in order to assist in educating students with special needs. The program raises funds to support the inclusion of children with special needs in our school and parish; assists teachers and staff in their commitment to keep students with special needs in our classrooms; and provides the support to embrace diversity in our school and parish.
