The
ministries of the Parish Education Program, support the Pastor,
Catechetical leaders, and Youth Minister in the spiritual
development of our parish family. It is important for all Catholics
to grow in the knowledge of their faith and in their love of
Christ and His Church. This can be accomplished with the extended
help and support of all members of our parish family.
Our Parish
School of Religion exists to support parents by providing
Religious Education classes providing a formal learning
situation, and by offering opportunities for peer and community
expressions of faith. Parents, by their example and guidance,
are the primary religious educators of their children. The
Church is committed to the religious education of its young
people. In order to accomplish this for students who do not
attend parochial school, parishes provide classes for school-aged
children of the parish.
Our Rite Of Christian Initiation Of
Adults (RCIA) program welcomes new members into the Catholic
faith through education, faith
sharing, friendship, and hospitality. Our Youth Ministry
empowers our young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ,
draws
them to responsible participation in the life and work of
the Catholic faith community, and fosters each individual’s
total personal and spiritual growth. Included in the Parish
Education Programs at St. Matthew the Apostle Church are the
following:
