Our
Catholic School Ministries support the Pastor and Principal
in social, spiritual, administrative, and fund raising activities.
Schools represent a vital part of any society. Through them,
the wisdom and culture of a people are passed along to new
generations. The Church sponsors and supports schools because
it recognizes that, for a people of faith, the wisdom and culture
transmitted by a school are enriched and put into perspective
by the Gospel message and by the history of Christian people.
Our school’s mission is to enhance student learning in
an environment that evokes the Catholic principles of love,
respect, honesty, integrity and service to others.
St. Matthew Catholic School is one of 46 Catholic elementary
schools in the Diocese of Columbus. Catholic schools strive
to educate the whole child. Students learn not only to read
and compute, but they are taught that respect for self and
others, concern for the rights of others, and responsible decision-making,
are the basis for achieving successful Christian lives. The
school is chartered by the state of Ohio and meets all state
minimum requirements.
St. Matthew School is fully accredited by the Ohio Catholic
School Accrediting Association. Religious education is an integral
part of the school day. All religion teachers take course work
through the Department of Religious Education to become certified
as religion teachers.
