ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION

Purpose: The Athletic Association was founded to provide organization and administrative support for all of the St. Matthew athletic programs offered through the Diocesan Recreation Association and to encourage all our youth to participate in a variety of sports activities.

Activities: Our athletic programs typically begin at the fourth grade level. For girls volleyball, basketball, soccer, softball, and cheerleading are offered. Boys can choose from football, basketball, soccer, and baseball. We also offer a coed track team. Each spring, an awards dinner is held for the varsity athletes and their families. In order to raise money to offset operating costs, the Association sells Market Day items and administers the Sports Bucks program. The association is also responsible for operating the concessions at our athletic fields and parish activity center. We also supply volunteer timekeepers and linesman to work various sporting events.
