Counseling Services

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27

What types of Counseling Services are offered at St. Matthew Parish?

Roman Catholic counselors and a non-denominational counselor offer faith-based professional counseling services to St. Matthew the Apostle parishioners and as an outreach to our surrounding community. All counselors are licensed by the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist Board and combine standard clinical counseling practices with the beliefs, practices, and spirituality of our Church to provide a thorough and Christ-centered approach to healing.  Counselors provide services for children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families to promote healing, personal growth, loving relationships, and faith-filled lives.

Where are the counselors located?

The counseling office is located in the Undercroft of the Church in the St. Luke’s room with its own access door to ensure privacy and ease of access.

What is the best way to contact a counselor at St. Matthew Parish?

Those interested in inquiring about counseling services are asked to contact the counselors directly by visiting Counseling Services Counselors.

Is insurance accepted and is having insurance required?

Most health insurances are accepted and reduced fee schedules may be available to those who do not have insurance or have financial need.

Why choose counseling via St. Matthew Parish?

The Counselors value the God-given dignity and potential of each individual. When working with individuals, couples, and families they are sensitive to and respect the spiritual dimension of each person in the healing process.

They value our Faith, the Word of God, excellence, integrity, respect, responsibility, self-discipline, loyalty, and gratitude and these values guide the way they approach counseling with their clients.

The counselors act as a resource in the establishment and continuity of parish-based peer support programs and other parish activities. All counseling services are offered in a confidential and professional manner with the goal of helping individuals and families improve their lives and relationships by strengthening their spiritual, emotional and physical well being.

While there is much stress and turmoil in our world today, we believe peace is possible – peace with God, peace with self, and peace with others. Because of God’s faithfulness and his promises, we offer hope as we come alongside those seeking peace in today’s troubled world.

We pray that God bless the services we offer here, and bless you as you continue to grow in a deeper relationship with Christ.
