VOLUNTEER INFORMATION FOR WORKING
WITH
CHILDREN AND YOUTH OF THE PARISH
An important goal of the
Catholic Church is to prevent future incidencesof sexual abuse of children by
anyone associated with the church -whether ordained, staff or
volunteer. Working toward that goal, we atSt. Matthew follow the
Diocese of Columbus Safe Environment Program which states all volunteers,
age 18 years or older, are to complete thefollowing requirements prior to
working with children
Thank you to the many people who have completed the
three requirements for volunteers working with children in our
parish. Volunteers are
indispensable to our programs. If you are interested in
working with our young people, the expectations for volunteers
are:
1. To complete the
Volunteer
Application and to sign the Volunteer Code of
Conduct Form
(Volunteer Code of Conduct form to be
signed at the bottom of the page and returned to the Church Office.)
2. Attend a
Protecting God's
Children Session
3. Submit to a
Criminal
Background Check (BCI or FBI check)
The Volunteer Code of Conduct
and
