YOUTH
MINISTRY: T.I.C. – TOGETHER IN CHRIST
Purpose:
The purpose of the High School Youth Ministry at St. Matthew is
to: 1) Empower our young people to live as disciples of Jesus
Christ in our world today, 2) Draw young people to responsible
participation in the life, mission and work of the Catholic
faith community, and 3) Foster the total personal and spiritual
growth of each young person.
Activities: The components of a
comprehensive ministry include advocacy, catechesis, community
life, evangelization, justice and service, leadership
development, pastoral care, and prayer and worship. High school
youth of St. Matthew have the opportunity to experience each of
the components through Together in Christ (T.I.C.). T.I.C.
meets on Sunday evenings from 6 - 7:30 p.m. throughout the
school year. The ministry also includes community service
activities, community building and social outings, Youth
Leadership Team, and retreats and service trips throughout the
year. The youth ministry program also sponsors a middle school
camp, Kids Rooted In Christ (K.R.I.C.) in July.
