USHERS & GREETERS

Purpose: Ushers and greeters welcome members of the St. Matthew community at church services. Ushers and greeters extend a personal greeting to all members and visitors to the parish.

Activities: Ushers and Greeters welcome the people at the doors of the church. Ushers also: lead people to open pews; assign a family to present the gifts at the offertory; organize the offertory procession;  efficiently perform the task of collections during the Mass; distribute bulletins after Mass; bid farewell to members; and invite them to stay for refreshments or the parish breakfast, when offered.
