LECTORS

 Purpose: Lectors proclaim the Scripture readings at weekend Masses and other special liturgies throughout the year.

Activities: Each lector proclaims about once every 5-6 weeks. Lectors prepare by meditating on the readings prior to their assignment. This meditation is facilitated by use of a workbook provided by the parish. The workbook contains the readings, tips on proclaiming the passage, and a pronunciation guide for difficult biblical words. The lector strives to read the verses as though he/she were telling a story or reading a letter aloud
