Catholic Christian Counseling Services
Offered at St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church
Catholic Christian Counselors offer faith-based professional counseling services
to St. Matthew Church parishioners and as an outreach to our surrounding
community. We believe that true healing can be accomplished through our
Christian faith and prayer, and by utilizing the principles of counseling.
Applying the fundamentals of counseling with the teachings and spirituality of
our Church, can help people regain their health and grow as individuals, in
their relationships, and as families.
All of the counseling services and programs are offered in a confidential and
professional environment with the goal of helping individuals and families
enhance their day to day living through the strengthening of their spiritual,
emotional and physical well being.

Meet the counselers:
Michele Melaragno
Michele has been approved by the State of
Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board as a
Supervising – Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. She is a member of the
American Association of Christian Counselors and the Ohio Counseling
Association. She received her Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Pastoral
Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary in 2006 and her Bachelor of Science
Degree in Business Administration from The Ohio State University. Prior to
founding Spirit of Peace Clinical Counseling, she was with WellSpring Counseling
for over 6 years. Michele was a Senior Manager with AT&T and Lucent Technologies
for 25 years when she was blessed with an early retirement.

Workshops or Groups
DivorceCare for Kids (DC4K), is a special group to help your children heal from
the pain caused by a separation or divorce. DC4K provides your children with a
safe and neutral place to recognize and learn to share their feelings.
DivorceCare, is a friendly, caring group of
people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult
experiences. The DivorceCare support group is led by people who understand what
you are going through and want to help.
GriefShare, is a bereavement support group
for individuals who are healing from the loss of a loved one. Group members are
able to express their feelings and begin the healing process in a caring and
supportive environment.
Personal
Michele has been married for 28 years and has a son and daughter. She enjoys
spending time with family and friends. Michele is a member of St. Matthew the
Apostle Church where she is a Eucharistic Minister to the sick and elderly. She
initiated a Marriage Mentor ministry to help prepare pre-marital couples for the
Sacrament of Marriage. Michele ran 2 Marathons: Columbus and The Marine Corp.
She is passionate about playing golf and baking pies. Michele loves U.S. and
world travel.
Lynn Henderson
Lynn has been approved by the State of Ohio
Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board as a Licensed
Social Worker. Lynn received her Master of Social Work Degree in 1992 from the
University of Toronto, Canada. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology
from Brock University in Ontario, Canada, as well as a Bachelor of Social Work
Degree from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. Lynn has worked in the social
work/counseling field since 1991. She has extensive experience with individuals,
families, and groups regarding grief and loss. Lynn enjoys working with couples
to improve their relationship and parenting skills.

GriefShare: A bereavement support group for individuals who are healing from the
loss of a loved one, where members are able to express their feelings and learn
about the process of grief through a spiritually based approach.
Joe is registered with the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, Marriage and
Family Therapist Board as a Counselor Trainee. He is currently attending Wright
State University, Dayton, Ohio, enrolled in their Master of Science Marriage and
Family Counseling program. He is a member of the American Counseling
Association. Joe received his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and
Sociology from The Ohio State University. Joe has worked in various business
venues using his organizational and people skills. His passion is to work with
families, couples, children and adolescents especially in the areas of conflict,
separation, divorce, stress and adjustment issues. Joe likes to spend time with
his wife and son enjoying outdoor activities, travel and sports. He is a member
of St. Matthew’s in Gahanna.

as camping, canoeing, hunting and fishing. They like to explore new cities,
festivals, flea markets, and museums. He also likes to watch baseball and
football.
